Positive Media Exposure Using Online Press Releases

Media exposure can prove especially beneficial for a business, presuming of course that it has a positive spin. Not all exposure is good exposure for your business, but by writing and submitting your own press releases and news stories it is possible to gain a very good degree of control over the type of media coverage that you gain. Real world (i.e. those that don't operate solely online) are also beginning to turn their attention to the fact that the Internet is one large resource of information.

The media, in general, is turning to the Internet for a number of reasons. All major media companies have their own website with the majority of daily newspapers and TV media companies offering content online as well as through their more traditional channels. For the press release writer this means that submitting a press online can gain even greater exposure than links and website traffic although it does require good content, timely releases, and a large slice of luck to gain huge exposure offline.

Always try to use insightful quotations in press releases and offer content that journalists may find of use when they are writing their own stories. If you can distribute a press release while news is breaking on a particular topic then it is much more likely to prove effective than if you release it after a couple of days. Timing and content will prove crucial. Although you can select the better quality press release directories in order to try and ensure greater exposure you will need to get lucky to some extent if you want mass media exposure from your online press release.
