Everyone knows how intensely competitive business is, and when you take it online the pressure increases a thousand fold. Most people have learned the great benefits of a well-written and well-presented press release can do for your business image and ranking. The A, B, C of press release writing is to not advertise or try to sell your products; instead tell the reader an interesting story that they will remember afterward.

Your press release must always be factual or you will get caught out fast. Facts included may be from the past, present or future, as long as they hold in with the story of the press release and make the reader take notice.

Once the press release is satisfactory, there are various ways to get your press release out there. There are many paid as well as free press release services on the Internet. If you have optimised your press release properly, the search engines will pick it up fast as well.

Know your customer

All the above is well and good, but it will all fall incredibly flat if you have forgotten the most crucial factor of all. You have to know your customers – you must know how they think, what they like and dislike and what will immediately draw their attention.

Your whole press release must be geared up to appeal to your target market. If it is not, then your story, no matter how great, will not have the affect you are hoping for. When you know your target market you are able to communicate with them directly and tell them how your product will benefit them.
