So, you've researched and written an incredible, hard hitting, newsworthy press release but you don't know what to do with it. Finding directories and other websites that accept, publish, and distribute online press releases isn't too great a challenge (just search for “press release submission” in any search engine) but to get the best possible exposure you need to find the best possible sites.

Start by looking within your own industry. By using topically related sites within your industry you are assured that the resulting visitors will be targeted to the content of your website. A lot of authority sites and portal sites will accept individual press release submissions and some will publish to their own network of websites too, giving you greater exposure for no extra effort.

Submitting press releases in this way is not the most ideal of tactics. It can take a lot of work to find just a couple of high quality websites. As well as using this tactic, then, you should also consider submitting your press releases to directories. Press release directories are used by a large range of websites to bulk up their own content.

Press release directories are all over the Internet. Some of the good ones are regularly used by large news portals in order to formulate their own listings and this can provide an effective way into several websites each with a huge volume of traffic on offer. By combining different methods of gaining exposure for your press release you can benefit greatly from the traffic they provide.
