Choosing affiliate-marketing associates is a process that involves a lot of thought. Affiliate marketing is a form of referral marketing and is an effective internet-marketing tool.

Commission rates and cookies duration are amongst some of the things that one needs to consider in choosing an appropriate affiliate-marketing package. Incentives, promotions and conversion rates also play an important role. As most merchants value the amount of traffic generated by publishers, they will usually offer impressive affiliate packages to attract more publishers.

What affiliates need to pay special attention to is choosing a program, which best suite their website. This requires a close look at the details of a program. Take note of the sales commission, lead commission, tracking cookie, and the rate at which conversion takes place, the earnings per click and the parasite resistance. Check the chance for incentive and bonuses.

Although one should avoid affiliate marketing associate programs that offer sales commission of fewer than 15%, sites like Amazon offer 4-6% commission but have a high conversion rates.

Research other websites affiliate marketing associate programs. You might learn how they earn their high commissions and be able to follow their example. This is a nice way of checking out which programs are just a waste of time and effort.
